The importance of a blended learning approach can not be overstated. Many users are not comfortable with a particular delivery method. By providing a combination of learning media to choose from, this automatically raises the learner comfort level and the effectiveness of the training.

Upward Momentum uses variations of the ADDIE model for particular audiences, particular business models, and particular course delivery methods. Example: while interactivity works extremely well with both instructor led training and web based training/ e-learning, it does not work well with recorded seminars.

As you can see, learning delivery methods and strategies can vary widely.

The "Core and Spoke" approach places web-based courseware at the center and supports the web-based courseware with a combination of on-site labs, mentors, web portal pages and standard instructor led training.

For many organizations, instructor led training will always be the center of their learning offer, so this solution might not be the best in every case.
